Florentina A. McAmis joined the Long Beach office of Kelly Trotter & Franzen as an associate in August 2021.

Florentina obtained an Associate’s degree in Dental Hygiene from Cerritos College in Norwalk, CA, in 1997 and received her license the same year.  While in school, she was elected president of the Student American Dental Hygienist Association and received the Student Leadership Award from the California Dental Hygienist Association.  Upon graduation, she was awarded a Certificate of Outstanding Performance in Clinical Dental Hygiene.  She worked as a Registered Dental Hygienist in various general dentistry and periodontal offices throughout her practice. 

In 2019, Florentina showcased her unwavering dedication and commitment by earning her Juris Doctorate from Trinity Law School in Santa Ana, California.  Despite juggling work and family life, she completed law school in three years.  Her commitment did not stop there.  She gained invaluable experience interning as a certified law clerk at the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office in West Covina.  While in law school, she served as a student intern at the Legal Clinic, Orange County Rescue Mission, assisting the disadvantaged with bankruptcy matters.

Florentina did not limit her legal studies to her home country.  She sought international exposure at Tulane University School of Law and participated in a summer legal program in refugee migration at Cambridge University in Cambridge, England.  She further broadened her horizons by studying intercultural negotiation and mediation at Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany.  These diverse experiences have enriched her understanding and practice of law.

Florentina became a member of the State Bar of California in 2021. Before joining Kelley, Trotter, and Franzen, she was involved in her community as a volunteer attorney at Christian Legal Aid of Los Angeles.

She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, hiking, and swimming in her free time. She is Fluent in the Tagalog language.
